Internship and Training Application Requirements

The objectives of the Internship and Management Training Programs are to obtain practical experience to help reinforce your academic studies in the professional field, enhance your career through structured training programs and learn about the U. S. business culture.

The applicant is required:

 

• To be between the ages of 18 to 30.

• To have a functional command of the English language.

• To thoroughly complete the application packet and submit supporting documents including signed Participant Agreement, curriculum vitae, letter of intent to the

   Host Business and 2 smiling passport photographs.

• To submit proof of sufficient health and accident insurance for the length of stay in North America or to purchase insurance.

• To read and agree to all program guidelines and policies and sign the Participant Agreement.

 

When completing the application form, please use a computer or print neatly in black ink. ALL sections and supporting documentation must be filled out in detail.

 

Incomplete or illegible (difficult to read) applications will be immediately disqualified and returned. It is your responsibility to provide as much information and detail as possible. This is the opportunity to indicate your strengths, abilities and interests to the Host Business. The more detailed and specific the information you provide, the more equipped and prepared We will be to provide you a positive and meaningful cultural immersion experience.

 

Curiculum Vitae and Letter to the Host Business Both your curriculum vitae (C.V.) and letter to the Host Business MUST be typed. A handwritten C.V. and Host Business letter is not acceptable and is considered unprofessional. The C.V. is a one page summary of your academic background and achievements and past work experience. Please remember to list any major skills and/or work-related contributions. Also indicate all computer software pro- grams you are familiar with. The Host Business letter is a brief introduction about you and your skills. You should mention what you can offer the Host Business and what you hope to gain by participating in this job-shadowing immersion program at their company.

 

Host Business Profile do their utmost to match your career interest with the most appropriate Host Business available in the following ccupational categories:

 

General Office Business, Retail/Merchandising, Teacher's Aide, Arts and Culture, Marketing /Finance/Management, and Social Services.

 

Because of the short program duration, you will only receive a general overview of the company and only simple tasks will be assigned to you. The first two weeks or so is an introductory period, during which the Host Business will evaluate your skills, as well as assign tasks that match your abilities. While the Host Business will make every effort to keep you fully engaged in career-related activities, there may be "down" times in which the Host Business will ask you to do general tasks and/or help with a "little bit of everything" including clerical work.

 

Independently changing your Host Business without our approval is prohibited. That will result in your immediate dismissal from the programe.

 

All participants are responsible for the following code of behavior at the Host Business

 

• To conduct yourself in a positive and business-like manner.

• To understand and obey all company rules and regulations.

• To undertake all duties assigned in a precise and timely manner.

• To respect management and all employees at the Host Business.

 

Unacceptable actions and behavior by you at the Host Business may result in dismissal from the program. There are no refunds for early departure or dismissal from the program.
